In Singapore, as in elsewhere in the world, teachers have found it more difficult than students to adapt to using information technology in the classroom. Many schools in Singapore adopted a simple solution: appoint a student IT representative for each class, who will be responsible for helping the teacher in using information technology.

Think about the benefits. It becomes easier for teachers to use information technology in the classroom and learn about its intricacies at their own, measured pace. Student IT representatives strengthen their technology skills, learn about leadership and gain experiences that can go on their resumes. The class accelerates its use of information technology. Everyone wins.
