Lock-down might be relaxed, but the threat of Coronavirus isn’t over. It’s still not safe to go outside, meet friends, dine out in gathering or do things which were part of our life before March 2020. Though with online classes, a routine has been developed but many of us still struggled to pass time constructively. Here’s a list of things I usually enjoy doing to pass time and keep my spirits high.

Read books:

It is the most common and the easiest way of spending your free time. You might think that you don’t have books and you must spend the rest of the time sitting in front of a screen scrolling memes. But you must be forgetting that everything is there in front of you when you have a smartphone and internet connection. So, if you don’t have print books then don’t worry. You can read E-books easily. Even parents don’t prefer that their children should be playing games and using social media all the time, if you are in front of a screen reading a book then your parents won’t object on it. It is because you are doing something productive and learning something. Almost every book is available in pdf format form and on e-book apps like Wattpad etc. Here are some books that you may find interesting: The fifth mountain, The Alchemist, The witch of Portobello (All by Paulo Coelho), The Hunchback Of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo, Brief Answers to Big Questions by Stephen Hawking, The Godfather by Mario Puzo, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.

Re-study your course:

This might seem boring and a parent- like advice but let’s admit it’s for your own good. Most of the students haven’t given exams and are now trying to figure out what to do. They don’t know the best way to spend time is in their backpacks. This will not only help you to prepare for exams but also clear concepts which you might have missed earlier. If you need revision you can use Learn Smart Pakistan just search it on YouTube channel. There are a lot of videos you can watch to help understand a topic. Try to utilize your time as much as possible. Sometimes you might think that your study tempo is broken but still re-studying will put it back on track. So, hurry up! Get that dust off your back packs and open them to study.

Learn Something New:

There are several options for this like baking, cooking, gardening etc.The best option is to learn a new language you were eager to learn but not finding the time to. Every language is available on YouTube and apps like Duo-lingo etc. There are some official apps available on embassy websites of any country. Now is the best time to go and learn your desired language. You might not find this much free time again in your life. Gokouun o inorimasu!!!! (Good luck in Japanese)

Go for an online course:

There are several courses on internet which you can take, some virtual exchange programs are available. They also provide certificates of completion which is really going to help you. You can go for graphic designing, beauty courses, language courses etc. Many websites are offering free certified online courses from famous universities around the world for example Coursera. Online courses are not hard to take. One just must give it some time and effort and boom! You are done with your course.

Watch something productive:

This is the most lovable option. As a teenager I know how teenagers love to watch series, anime, movies etc. But try to watch something productive like documentaries and reports. Documentaries boosts up your IQ level, increase knowledge and knowledge gathering skills and most importantly you are doing something productive. Also, there are some informative series and movies which you might enjoy also.

Try to be creative:

Now is the best time you can test your creativity skills. Spend time not only doing something you are good at but do something you are not good at. For example, if you love sketching but you are not good at it then you have the time to master the skill by doing it again and again. You can also make you own content like write blogs, make videos and publish on YouTube channel. Make a To-Do list so that you can have a task everyday a sense of achievement after doing it.

Feel like adding any other way to spend time during these times, mention in the comments!
